While the importance of teachers and their role in society is undeniable, we\u2019re now more than ever aware of the stresses and pressures that accompany employment within the education sector, specifically teaching. This has recently been evidenced by the National Education Union and their yearly survey<\/a> regarding the state of education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key findings of the annual State of Education survey showed that a large percentage of teachers believed they would no longer be working in education and planned to leave their positions within five years. Additionally, over half of teachers (52%) communicated that their workload is \u2018unmanageable\u2019 or \u2018unmanageable most of the time,\u2019 up from 35% in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While working in education comes with hardships, it can be an extremely rewarding career, so how do we keep \u2013 and attract \u2013 people into the profession?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
