New Directions Education would like to congratulate the pupils of Oswestry school ‘Our Lady and St Oswald’s Catholic Primary’ who managed to raise a massive sum over \u00a3600.00 for charity Christian Aid.<\/p>\n
Christian Aid is an international development charity working in over 50 countries around the world tackling the causes of poverty and helping those who strive to bring equality, dignity and freedom regardless of faith or nationality.<\/p>\n
To help this fantastic cause and to raise the awareness of the hardships millions of children have to go through around the world on a daily basis, the staff of St Oswald’s made the inspired decision to encourage pupils to do a sponsored water carry. This involved pupils from the school carrying buckets of water around the school field, giving them a small taster of how many of the things we take for granted and how simple things we take for granted aren\u2019t available to so many others.<\/p>\n
Many aching arms and feet later the children, parents and staff of the school helped to raise a fantastic amount of much needed money for the charity. A spokesperson for Our Lady and St Oswald\u2019s said \u2018it’s a credit to the pupils of the school to show such altruism and self-sacrifice to aid those less fortunate than themselves\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
