You will be supporting children and young people in a residential care setting, helping them to feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.<br>This is a rewarding but challenging role that requires emotional strength, consistency, and a genuine passion for working with young people who may present with complex needs and behaviours.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><br>Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting<br>Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being<br>Build trusting relationships with young people<br>Support daily routines, including education, activities, and personal care<br>Maintain accurate records and reports<br>Work collaboratively with the wider care team and external professionals<br>Ensure safeguarding and health &amp; safety standards are always met<br><br><strong>Essential Requirements<\/strong><br>Experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting<br><strong>Valid restraint training (e.g. PBM or equivalent)<\/strong><br>Ability to work long day shifts and sleep-in shifts on a rota basis<br>Strong communication and interpersonal skills<br>Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour<br>A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people<br><br><strong>Desirable<\/strong><br>NVQ Level 3 in Children &amp; Young People (or willingness to work towards)<br>Previous experience in residential childcare or supported living environments<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the RoleWe are seeking dedicated and resilient Residential Children\u2019s Support Workers to join our team in Newport.
