This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people who require emotional, behavioural, and practical support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an Agency Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care, promote positive outcomes, and help create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where young people can thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide day-to-day care and support for children and young people aged 8\u201318 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support young people with education, social activities, life skills, and personal development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage independence while maintaining appropriate safeguarding measures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete accurate records, reports, and daily documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend appointments, activities, and community-based events when required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work collaboratively with residential staff, social workers, and external professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Essential:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum 6 months&#8217; experience working with children or young people in a residential, care, support, education, or similar setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, waking nights, and sleep-ins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NVQ\/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People&#8217;s Workforce, Residential Childcare, Health &amp; Social Care, or equivalent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full UK driving licence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the Role We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Child Residential Support Workers in the Newport area to support children and young people within residential care settings across Cardiff.
