Andrew Harris and New Directions Pharmacy gather gifts for Mr X appeal

New Directions Pharmacy have worked around the clock once again to help provide over 250 gifts for children in South Wales this coming Christmas.

The team has worked to support the Mr X Appeal Swansea charity initiative since 2013. The festive drive encourages individuals to donate a gift for a child who may be in difficult circumstances this yuletide. The team did not disappoint.

Leah Seltzer, Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance for New Directions spearheads the challenge annually. She said ‘firstly I can’t believe we are here again one year on with so many gifts to donate. Sadly, in the last 12 months we lost the original Mr X after many great years of work. However, his legacy lives on and in 2017 our team have done him proud once more. Record numbers of gifts again, record participants and above all a real demonstration of team togetherness at a time when every young person deserves a treat’.

New Directions Pharmacy Account Manager Andrew Harris, who recruited over 100 of his friends and family to support the initiative said ‘this is a charity that really drives home at Christmas how much we all have and more importantly how little others have in difficult situations. We have spent weeks collating gifts from across South Wales. I am exceptionally proud to know wonderful people with big hearts. We just hope we can add a little festive cheer this yuletide to those who need it most’.

Andrew adds We would also like to give a shout out to Brawd & Ms. Fit members who are the ones who kindly contributed 120+ quality prezzies.

Elen Davies who heads up New Directions Pharmacy added ‘we are a team that always has some sort of charitable initiative on the go. From this wonderful drive to helping homeless shelters have a cheerier time – Andrew always goes above and beyond. It’s no surprise that our friends, colleagues and families have given so much once again’.

In 2016 New Directions were awarded Investors in People (IiP) Gold status after a period of growth, investment and innovation. Ruth Dalton, Group Head of Communications and Marketing added ‘watch out 2018 – our commitment to corporate social responsibility is about to become more powerful and more important than ever before’.
