New Directions Wear Wigs for Fundraising #WigWednesday

Wig Wednesday is one big day in May when people across the UK unite to raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience. The gruelling, often life-saving cancer treatment can last up to three years and frequently leads to children and young people losing their hair.

On Wednesday 22nd May, the Social Care team got involved and wore a wig to support CLIC Sargent and their amazing cause. Speaking about taking part Sarah Blackmore, Head of Department for the team said ‘where possible we like to get involved in giving back. The opportunity to have a giggle at the same time and change our appearance for a day was an added bonus. Hopefully we can add to raising awareness and funds for a really vital charity’.

You can donate via their JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/WigWednesday or text ‘WIGS85 £5’ to 70070.

Wig Wednesday is aiming to raise £100,000 for CLIC Sargent. Show your support and make a difference to children and young people with cancer.
