Care Recruiter Opens Doors in South West

A leading recruitment and training provider to the care sector has opened its doors officially in the South West.

New Directions Social Care has set up an office in the heart of Bristol’s Temple Quay to help service the 3000 plus care homes across Bristol and North Somerset. The business provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions to care homes, shelters, residential units and many other facets of the social care sector.

The organisation, initially established in 1994 in Cardiff has witnessed considerable growth in demand for staff in the South West. Sarah Blackmore who heads up the operations three regional offices comments ‘the South West has arguably been a natural area of progression for our team for many years. We work with a great number of care providers in the area, supporting them with recruitment and training. However, we wanted to ensure that we were 100% ‘Bristol-fit’ before we set down some roots’.

The office opens its doors in a year that has seen the business awarded preferred supplier to multiple care groups including the Gwalia group who manage a stock of 10,200 properties, ensuring the care and well-being of around 4,700 individuals. Kirsty Knowles who heads up the Bristol operation for New Directions adds ‘Having a home in Bristol was an absolute essential next step for our team. We want to support the care community in the South West and, after much hard work, research and development – we are delighted to be here’.

The organisation has received a flurry of awards and accolades in the past 12 months. ‘We want to bring our values and high levels of candidate and client care to the South West’ Kirsty surmises ’now we are looking to register as many quality staff as possible in the region to become a part of our award winning organisation’.
