Job Description

New Directions Social Care are currently recruiting for experienced support workers to work with an established care provider.

We have staff in several services in and around the Bristol area that cater individuals with a complex mental health and/or a learning disability and are looking for more.

The role would involve support in a residential setting to include assistance in the community, prompting personal care, managing challenging behaviour and assisting with any everyday tasks as required to include medication administration.

We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 6 months paid or 12 months voluntary experience and a keen interest in working in the Learning Disability or Mental Health sectors.
We do not require you to be a car driver although it would be beneficial. We can offer flexibility around hours worked, shifts can be 12 or 14 hour shifts with a sleep in or more traditional 8 hour shifts. The role of a Support Worker

The duties of a Support Worker vary depending on the needs and wishes of the individual. They offer support for the individuals overall comfort and wellbeing and help people who need care and support to live as independently as possible. They will support individuals with many aspects of everyday living; including physical, emotional and social.

Support Workers can work in a residential care home, domiciliary care, or out in the community. Their work is defined by a care plan, which is often developed by a social worker or care manager to meet the assessed needs of the person who needs care or support.
