Our client is a leading provider of therapeutic residential care, independent education and integrated clinical services for children and young people with multiple and complex needs. We deliver a portfolio of specialist service for young people ages 10 to 18 years old, from crisis and assessment placement, through to long term placement and preparation for independent living. A fundamental element of the care in which we provide these young people, is our comprehensive programme of tailored therapy.
In order to support our clinical delivery we are currently seeking a highly experienced Psychologist to play an integral role within the clinical team by providing highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic care planning for Children & Young people placed with the organisation. You will take clinical responsibility as regional lead for a number of our care homes as well as supervising and supporting the development of colleagues within the clinical team. Alongside this, you will deliver therapeutic interventions to young people and take the lead on developing and delivering training to staff across the organisation.
It is essential that you hold post-doctoral knowledge of applied psychology, including developmental lifespan, models of psychopathology and two additional distinct psychological therapies.
This is a challenging role and you must hold the ability to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintain a high degree of professionalism in the case of highly emotive and distressing problems and the threat of verbal and physical abuse.
We expect that you will hold HCPC registration, a Practitioner Doctorate and have additional training in a relevant therapeutic approach.
