Senior care assistant

Job Description

£10.25-£10.75 per hour

If  you are Passionate about providing the very best care in residential nursing home settings, New directions Social care are looking for enthusiastic and committed Senior care assistants to join the team for night shifts in the Cardiff area.

You will be providing the highest quality of care leading a team on shift taking responsibility for the support, physical and emotional well being and social needs of elderly residents. assisting and providing support for residents with personal care such as Washing personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals.

As a senior Care assistant you will have responsibility for administering medication so will need to have completed the medication training, and hold a Level 3 in health and social care, have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check

Key skills as a Senior Care assistant

  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Experience of administrating Medication and completed medication training.
  • Have excellent Communication skills, and have the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team.
  • Experience of supervising and leading a team.
  • Understanding of regulations and legislation within the care profession
  • Experience of caring for individuals with Dementia
  • Displaying Compassion, patients and empathy in all tasks whilst being organized and reliable in approach to work.
  • Have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check
  • Manual handling, Basic Life support and all mandatory training.

Experience:
Please be advised that we require a minimum 6 months paid social care experience or 12 months relevant voluntary experience.
