Job Description

New Directions are currently recruiting in the Gloucester area for an experienced Youth Worker.

The company that we are working with currently offer an alternative to residential accommodation for young people. They support individuals to live semi-independent and make their own decisions, an established company that has a high ration of positive outcomes.

The service can offer support to individuals who have a history of substance misuse, refugee status, criminal background etc.

As a Youth worker you will be involved in assisting service users with all aspects of their daily life promoting independence and promoting healthy living.

You will be supporting the young persons with the following:

Relationship with family, peers, neighbours, staff and other professionals.
Personal and domestic hygiene.
Physical and emotional health.

All you need is 6 months paid or 12 months voluntary work in the sector , we have a variety of shifts available and our client will work around your availability.

The role of a Support Worker

The duties of a Support Worker vary depending on the needs and wishes of the individual. They offer support for the individuals overall comfort and wellbeing and help people who need care and support to live as independently as possible. They will support individuals with many aspects of everyday living; including physical, emotional and social.

Support Workers can work in a residential care home, domiciliary care, or out in the community. Their work is defined by a care plan, which is often developed by a social worker or care manager to meet the assessed needs of the person who needs care or support.
