New Directions are currently recruiting for an experienced Support Worker to undergo work in the Ross-On-Wye area .
You will be working with individuals with a learning disability to support them with everyday living, this service caters for 8 service users over 2 houses.
Our client has a vacancy for 2 support workers working on a 26 hour contract to include sleep ins and shifts.
Main aspects of the role are to actively support person centred planning with each individual, ensuring that support plans are tailored to meet individual needs and wishes, identifying opportunities that promote growth and development for the people we support.
To provide support in line with individuals support plans and service aims & objectives.
To actively support each individual to manage their health needs, e.g. administration of medication, attendance at appointments, supporting dietary needs and through monitoring, recording and reporting changing needs as appropriate.
To facilitate and empower independence by encouraging and promoting participation in all aspects of daily life, to enable the people we support to develop skills and do as much as they possibly can for themselves.
The ideal candidate will have 6 months prior experience in a similar role, the company provides a full induction and training programme and also the opportunity to undertake NVQ’s relevant to the role.
The role of a Support Worker
The duties of a Support Worker vary depending on the needs and wishes of the individual. They offer support for the individuals overall comfort and wellbeing and help people who need care and support to live as independently as possible. They will support individuals with many aspects of everyday living; including physical, emotional and social.
Support Workers can work in a residential care home, domiciliary care, or out in the community. Their work is defined by a care plan, which is often developed by a social worker or care manager to meet the assessed needs of the person who needs care or support.

Experience:Please be advised that we require a minimum 6 months paid social care experience or 12 months relevant voluntary experience.
