Job Description

New Directions Social Care are seeking caring, reliable, and compassionate Agency Care Assistants to join our growing team, supporting individuals across a range of care settings in Swansea, including residential homes, nursing homes, supported living services, and community care environments.

As an Agency Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of service users by providing person-centred care, promoting independence, and supporting their daily living needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to service users.
• Assist with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs.
• Support individuals with mobility and transferring where required.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
• Encourage independence and maintain dignity at all times.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Monitor and report any changes in service users’ health or wellbeing.
• Complete accurate care records and documentation.
• Follow care plans, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety requirements.

Requirements

Essential:

• Minimum 6 months’ experience within a care or support role.
• A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and nights.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
• Experience working within residential care, nursing homes, supported living, or domiciliary care settings.
• Moving and Handling training.
• Medication Administration training.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
