New Directions Social Care is currently recruiting experienced Adult Support Workers in the Neath Port Talbot area. This is an excellent opportunity to support adults with learning disabilities and make a real difference in people’s lives.
The Role
As an Adult Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements
– Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
– A valid Manual Handling Passport.
– PBM (Positive Behaviour Management) training.
– Medication Administration training and experience.
– A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
– The right to work in the UK with no restrictions on working hours (applications from candidates on limited working-hour visas cannot be considered).
Key Responsibilities
– Supporting individuals with daily living activities and personal care where required.
– Promoting independence and encouraging participation in the community.
– Administering medication in line with policies and procedures.
– Following care plans and maintaining accurate records.
– Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques.
– Working collaboratively with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
