New Directions Social Care is currently recruiting Adult Support Workers to work within hostel settings across Swansea.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable adults, helping them to achieve independence and improve their wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role
As an Adult Support Worker, you will work with adults living in hostel accommodation, providing practical and emotional support tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
– Supporting residents with daily living skills and promoting independence.
– Building positive, professional relationships with service users.
– Encouraging engagement with support services and community activities.
– Assisting with housing-related support and signposting to appropriate services.
– Maintaining accurate records and completing reports as required.
– Promoting safeguarding, health, and wellbeing at all times.
– Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Requirements
– Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, supported housing, homelessness services, or hostel environments is desirable.
– A caring, compassionate, and person-centred approach.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – drivers only.
– Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
– Applicants must have the right to work in the UK with no restrictions on working hours. Unfortunately, we cannot consider candidates with limited working-hour visas.
