We are currently recruiting Residential Childcare Workers to support young people in residential children’s homes across the Glamorgan area. This is a rewarding opportunity for compassionate, resilient individuals who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be able to drive to support young people with appointments, activities, and community access.

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for children and young people. Many of the young people you will support may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances, so patience, empathy, and consistency are essential.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting young people with daily routines and life skills
• Providing emotional support, guidance, and positive role modelling
• Assisting with education, hobbies, and community activities
• Transporting young people to appointments, school, and activities
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
• Working as part of a dedicated residential care team
• Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures

What We’re Looking For

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
• Experience working with children or young people in care, residential, or support settings (preferred)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
