About Us

The New Directions group of companies was established in 1994, and the Social Care branch of the business has developed as one of the premier recruitment and training providers to the sector in the UK.
The team are dedicated to providing the right recruitment and training services to the social care and nursing sectors, the first time. We are embedded within your community and adhere to all procedures as set by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

Quality and Compliance

New Directions Social Care registers all candidates in line with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) minimum standards, ensuring a robust recruitment procedure and a service is of a high standard. All candidates are interviewed by an experienced Consultant to discuss experience, skills and suitability to work within the Social Care sector. An Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Disclosure (formerly CRB) is obtained by New Directions and renewed annually.

A full employment history is obtained and any gaps in employment are accounted for. References are obtained and verified covering the last five years of employment and any further experience working with vulnerable adults/children. All previous employers will be contacted for a reference and reasons for leaving their employment will be verified. Identification and training checks are made and copies of the original documentation are kept on file before becoming active, all candidates are reviewed and a decision is made based on the outcome of references / DBS and considered suitable to work with children and / or vulnerable adults.

Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)

New Directions Social Care is a registered member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation. The REC is a professional body that represents the recruitment industry. We are dedicated to following professional recruitment procedures in line with those recommended with by the REC.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) formerly CRB Umbrella Company

The New Directions group of companies is an umbrella company for the DBS.

Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW)

We adhere to the CIW recommended recruitment procedures to ensure that our candidates and clients receive the best possible service.

Accredited CIEH training session (New Directions Training)

New Directions has an in-house training department that is an approved accredited Chartered Institute of Environmental Health centre. We offer up-to-date training for the social care sector that focuses on quality and cost.
