Support Worker Job in Cardiff (Ref: MC)

New Directions are looking to recruit a Support Worker to work in learning disability project in Cardiff.  The position would be providing support throughout the day to vulnerable people living within their own home. You will be involved in day-to-day support, which may include personal care, some domestic tasks, pursuing hobbies, support in the community and promoting their independence. The shift patterns can vary and may include sleep in shifts and long days. Experience within a similar role is essential and you should be abl;e to work as part of a team.

We at new directions are currently looking for a Hostel Worker to work in a Cardiff City Centre based family hostel. This Hostel provides supported housing to 29 single women, aged between 16 and 25, in a combination of self-contained bedsits and rooms with shared facilities.  It is staffed on a 24 hours, 7 days a week basis.Support and life skills programs are designed to enable residents to move on to independent living and in-house activities are provided to encourage resident participation in their home and community.

This enables them to increase their skills and confidence to help them to manage their future homes and lead settled lives.
