Sustainability at New Directions Group
Our Commitment to a Greener Future
At New Directions Group, sustainability is not just a corporate initiative – it’s an integral part of our culture and operations. As environmental concerns become more pressing, we’re taking action to protect the planet and promote sustainable practices across our business. From the energy we use to the transport we encourage, every step we take is guided by a commitment to creating a more sustainable future.

How We’re Making a Difference
1. Smarter Waste Management: From Recycling to Food Waste
Effective waste management is a key part of our sustainability strategy. Across our sites, we prioritise recycling, ensuring that materials like plastic, paper, glass and food waste are sorted and processed responsibly.
Food waste, in particular, can have a major environmental impact if sent to landfill. By diverting organic waste to composting and anaerobic digestion, we significantly reduce harmful methane emissions and turn waste into valuable resources such as compost or renewable energy.
Our teams are encouraged to think sustainably in all areas – ensuring that every bit of waste is treated as an opportunity to do better.
2. Investing in Renewable Energy: Solar Power in Action
Reducing our reliance on fossil fuels is essential in tackling climate change. That’s why we’ve invested in solar energy to power our operations.
In 2024 alone, our solar panels generated over 126,000 kWh of clean electricity – enough to power around 40 average UK homes for a year. This initiative alone prevented an estimated 28.5 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – the same as planting more than 1,300 mature trees or avoiding 13 return flights between London and New York.
By offsetting around 75% of our total electricity use with solar energy, we’re reducing both our carbon footprint and our energy costs – a win for the environment and for business efficiency.
3. Supporting Greener Transport Options
Transport is one of the UK’s largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions, which is why we’re helping staff and visitors make cleaner travel choices.
We’ve installed on-site electric vehicle (EV) chargers and actively support the use of electric and hybrid carpool schemes. This not only cuts emissions but also reduces traffic congestion and encourages more sustainable commuting habits.
Whether travelling to meetings or commuting to work, we’re making it easier for our people to choose low-carbon transport.
4. Collaboration with Inspire Green
Partnerships play a vital role in achieving our sustainability goals. We’re proud to work with Inspire Green, a leader in commercial renewable energy solutions. Their expertise helps us continually improve the efficiency and environmental impact of our energy systems.
This collaboration ensures that our energy strategies remain forward-thinking, innovative, and aligned with best practices in green technology.
5. Why Sustainability Matters at New Directions Group
For us, sustainability is more than an operational focus – it reflects our values and long-term vision. We recognise that as a business, we have the power and responsibility to make a positive impact on the environment.
From reducing emissions and waste to promoting greener choices among staff and partners, we aim to lead by example. We’re committed to using our influence and resources to foster a more sustainable future for our community and beyond.

Looking Ahead
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, but this is just the beginning. Sustainability is a continuous journey, and we’re always looking for new ways to improve.
From expanding our renewable energy portfolio to enhancing our sustainability culture across the organisation, we’re dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
Together with our teams, clients, and partners, New Directions Group is building a business that’s not only successful but sustainable too.
