Men’s Health Week 2025
At New Directions Group, the health and well-being of our team is more than just a priority — it’s a core value. This Men’s Health Week (9–15 June 2025), we’re joining the nationwide conversation to raise awareness of the physical and mental health challenges that many men face, and how we’re taking active steps to support our male colleagues.

Why Men’s Health Week Matters
Men’s Health Week is a dedicated time to highlight preventable health issues and encourage early detection and treatment among men and boys.
Despite growing awareness, many men still face barriers when it comes to talking about their health, whether it’s physical issues, mental wellbeing, or simply asking for help. That’s why initiatives like this week are so important: they create space for open conversations and encourage men to take charge of their wellbeing.
How We Support Men’s Health at New Directions Group
At New Directions, we’re committed to creating a workplace that nurtures both physical and mental wellness. Here’s how we’re supporting our male colleagues year-round, not just during Men’s Health Week:
Mental Health First Aiders
We’ve trained a number of staff as Mental Health First Aiders, creating a supportive environment where team members can reach out in confidence. Our Mental Health First Aiders are always on hand to provide a listening ear and direct colleagues to professional help when needed.
Flexible Working and Work-Life Balance
We understand that health and well-being start with balance. Our flexible working options help staff manage their schedules in a way that works for them, whether it’s fitting in a doctor’s appointment, a gym session, or just time to recharge.
Physical Wellbeing Initiatives
Our wellbeing programme includes free access to our Cardiff HQ gym, lunchtime walking groups, and access to a digital wellness hub, where staff can find tips on fitness, nutrition, and sleep.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
All staff have access to a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, offering expert guidance and counselling on everything from mental health to financial concerns.
Men’s Health Week is a great opportunity to check in with yourself, your mates, and your colleagues. Whether it’s booking that GP appointment you’ve been putting off, going for a walk, or simply having a chat over a cuppa, every action counts.
