Elen Davies, Senior Account Manager for New Directions Pharmacy along with three other team members (team name ‘Over the Hill’) have bravely/stupidly agreed to complete the Welsh three peaks challenge to raise money for Tŷ Hafan.This challenge involves walking up Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan (the highest peaks in North, Mid and South Wales) in one day.Starting at 4am on Saturday 15th June, the trio will take on Snowdon, before driving down to the mighty Cadair Idris to tackle Pen-y-Fan with the aim of completing the challenge in under 15 hours.Over the Hill will be walking […]

Announcement made – criminal record checks to be relaxed

The Home Office has announced that job applicants will no longer have to be confronted by elements of their criminal past being exposed to employers.For individuals applying for posts in England and Wales, minor cautions and convictions will no longer be listed as part of the check. This announcement follows a ruling in January by the Court of Appeal who argued that blanket checks did not comply with human rights laws.The ruling suggests that convictions that have not resulted in a custodial sentence will be stripped out of checks after 11 years (for adults) and five and half years for […]
