Job Description

New Directions Education are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Welsh-speaking Secondary Teachers to join our network of supply staff in Denbighshire, to support schools in maintaining high standards of education during times of teacher absence. As a Welsh-speaking Secondary Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of secondary schools. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students in their learning. In addition, you will need to be adaptable, reliable, and able to maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment.

The role of a Secondary Teacher is a far-reaching and rewarding role that shapes the futures of young people.

As a Secondary Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
