Wallasey | 5-Week Role | Start: October 2025

New Directions Education are working with a primary school in Wallasey who are seeking a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience to support pupils in a Year 5/6 class. This is a 5 days a week position starting October 2025.

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Support pupils with social, emotional and learning development
  • Contribute to creating a positive, nurturing classroom environment

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN (essential)
  • Confident working with upper KS2 pupils
  • Patient, adaptable and supportive attitude
  • TA qualification or relevant experience in a school setting

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
