Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work in Primary and Secondary SEND schools across Chester. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the education and development of individual pupils.
About the Role: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil with additional needs, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum, develop social and emotional skills, and reach their full potential. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and the school SENCo to deliver personalised learning and pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND across the school day
Support academic learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing
Assist with behaviour management and implementation of personalised strategies
Help pupils build confidence, independence, and social skills
Support classroom activities, resources, and routines
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to meet pupil needs
We are looking for individuals who:
Have experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or learning difficulties
Are patient, compassionate, and resilient
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can work confidently one-to-one and as part of a team
Are passionate about helping children thrive in an inclusive environment
