Job Description

New Directions Education is working with a primary school in Birkenhead that is looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support within an F1 (Nursery) class.

This is a full-time, ongoing role starting ASAP, ideal for someone with strong SEN experience and a nurturing approach to early years support.

Hours: Full time
Contract: Ongoing

The Role:
You will be supporting young children in an F1 setting, including those with additional needs, helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting learning through play and structured activities
– Providing tailored support for children with SEN
– Assisting with personal care routines where required
– Encouraging social, emotional and communication development
– Working closely with the class teacher and EYFS team

We’re Looking For:
– Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification
– Experience supporting children with SEN
– Experience within EYFS (Nursery/F1 desirable)
– A patient, caring and proactive approach
– Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

• NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

• Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers

• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
• Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
• Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
