We are currently seeking a fluent Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisor to work on a supply basis across Powys. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting learning and maintaining high standards in the classroom.
In this role, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused, and safe. You will support the delivery of pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for a proactive, adaptable professional who can quickly integrate into different school settings, build positive relationships with pupils and staff, and promote a supportive Welsh-medium learning environment across Powys.
Working within a Welsh medium school is not only rewarding but essential in keeping the Welsh language prominent within our society.
Are you a fluent Welsh speaker? Do you have experience working with children or managing/supervising a group of people? Would you like to transfer those skills into an education setting?
You will need to have the confidence to stand in front of a secondary classroom to maintain classroom behaviour, and ensure the pupils stay on task following the work set by the class teacher. There is no teaching involved with this position, the main responsibility of this role is the management of the classroom. Therefore, experience working with children or supervising groups of people along with good communication skills is essential.
There are various day-to-day, part time and full time roles available, with an immediate start.
Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.
