Job Description

New Directions Education is working in partnership with a welcoming small primary school in Crosby to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Years Teacher. This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who already have experience within Early Years, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the School:
• A close-knit, supportive primary school with a strong sense of community.
• Serves children from affluent areas of Sefton, with a high proportion of greater depth and high-achieving pupils.
• High expectations for learning, behaviour, and pupil outcomes.
• A nurturing yet ambitious approach to early learning, encouraging curiosity, independence, and confidence.

The Role:
• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Provide appropriate challenge and extension to support high-achieving children and those working at greater depth.
• Create a stimulating, well-organised learning environment that promotes exploration, play, and early independence.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress accurately, using observations to inform next steps in learning.
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support children’s development both in school and at home.

The Ideal Candidate:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it.
ECTs are encouraged to apply, but prior Early Years experience is essential.
• Confident in delivering the EYFS curriculum and supporting children to exceed age-related expectations.
• Passionate about early learning and skilled in stretching and challenging able learners.
• A reflective practitioner with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide recent references.
