New Directions Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher for a long-term position starting in January 2026 at a secondary school in Sefton. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people and delivering high-quality History education across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role:
Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons across KS3 and KS4 following the school’s curriculum.
Plan, prepare, and assess pupils’ work in line with departmental and exam-board expectations.
Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of History.
Participate in department meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and support wider school initiatives where required.
The Ideal Candidate:
A passionate and committed History specialist with strong subject knowledge.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is an ECT with relevant training.
Able to differentiate lessons effectively and support learners of varying abilities.
Strong classroom-management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already completed.
Must have employment references covering the last 5 years.
