Wirral | Start: September 2025 | Part Time – Every Thursday | Ongoing

New Directions Education is recruiting on behalf of a primary school on the Wirral for a part-time Learning Support Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil in Year 4.
This role will start in September 2025 and is every Thursday on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil with additional learning needs
  • Adapt resources and activities to suit the pupil’s needs
  • Support with learning in line with the pupil’s SEN plan
  • Assist with any additional needs, ensuring the pupil is engaged and supported throughout the school day
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress

Requirements:

  • SEN experience is essential
  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
