New Directions Education is recruiting on behalf of a primary school on the Wirral for a part-time Learning Support Assistant to work one-to-one with a pupil in Year 4. This role will start in September 2025 and is every Thursday on an ongoing basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil with additional learning needs
Adapt resources and activities to suit the pupil’s needs
Support with learning in line with the pupil’s SEN plan
Assist with any additional needs, ensuring the pupil is engaged and supported throughout the school day
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
Requirements:
SEN experience is essential
Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
