Job Description

New Directions Education is recruiting Key Stage 1 Teachers to work across a number of fantastic primary schools in Ellesmere Port. We have a mix of long-term, short-term, and ad hoc roles available starting asap – ideal for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to build experience in local schools.

About the Role:
You’ll be supporting children in KS1 to develop their learning and confidence, delivering engaging lessons and contributing to a positive school environment. Each placement offers something new — from daily supply to longer-term roles.

We’re Looking For:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
– Experience teaching in KS1 (Year 1 or Year 2)
– Strong classroom management and adaptable teaching style
– Enthusiasm and a love for helping children reach their full potential

Job Specification

Your role as a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.

As a Primary School Key Stage 1 Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Hold QTS status
  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
