Job Description

New Directions Education is working closely with a primary school in Wallasey that is looking to build a reliable bank of Teaching Assistants to support the school on an ad hoc basis, with long-term opportunities available for the right candidates.

This is a great opportunity for TAs seeking flexibility while also having the chance to secure regular or longer-term work.

Location: Wallasey
Start Date: ASAP
Roles: Ad hoc with potential long-term

The Role:
You will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required, assisting teachers in maintaining continuity of learning and providing high-quality classroom support.

Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting learning across different key stages
– Working with small groups or providing 1:1 support
– Assisting with classroom routines and behaviour management
– Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
– Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
