Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to work in Wirral secondary schools, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, speech & language needs, and learning difficulties.
You will work 1:1 or with small groups to help children access lessons, regulate emotions, follow routines, and build independence. Working closely with teachers and the SENCo, you will provide tailored support that promotes confidence, engagement, and positive learning outcomes.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have prior experience supporting children with SEN (school, care, or youth work experience accepted)
• Be calm, nurturing, and adaptable to different needs and environments
• Understand the importance of structure, consistency, and positive behaviour strategies
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
• Have a solid understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
