An excellent primary school in Bradford is looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis. This role is to support an autistic child in year 1. Starting in September 2025 for the full academic year, with the view to move onto a school contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide learning support for a student on a 1:1 basis
Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
Establish trusting relationships with pupils with interactions according to individual needs and personalities.
Work closely with SENCo and Class Teacher to ensure learning is tailored to needs of pupils
Requirements:
Have experience supporting primary aged students on a 1:1 basis (at least 1 year)
Have a strong understanding of SEND Needs such as: ASC and Speech & Language Needs
Willing to support in the classroom as well deliver targeted interventions with a focus on speech and language
Have an ability to use own initiative with an ability to ‘think on your feet’
Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
