We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a small, welcoming primary school in St Helens. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children in a supportive, close-knit school community.
We particularly welcome applications from individuals with experience in care, social work, nursery or early years settings, sports coaching, youth work, or similar child-centred support roles.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide dedicated 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement in learning
