New Directions Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to work in a specialist setting in Halton, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role
Teach and support pupils with PMLD, delivering high-quality, personalised learning experiences.
Work closely with the SEND team, therapists, and support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and communication strategies.
Support pupils’ development across all areas including communication, sensory needs, physical development, and life skills.
Monitor progress, assess learning, and contribute to planning and reporting.
Promote a positive, calm and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally PMLD, is desirable but not essential.
Strong understanding of personalised learning, sensory needs, and communication strategies (e.g., Makaton, PECs).
Patient, compassionate and adaptable with a commitment to inclusion and equality.
ECTs are encouraged to apply.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service, if not already done.
Must have employment references covering the last 5 years.
