New Directions Education is currently recruiting for a SEND Teacher for a fantastic special needs primary school in Trafford. Teaching across KS1-2, the ideal SEND Teacher will have experience of teaching pupils with autism (ASC) & complex needs. Experience in a similar setting or a SEND class within a mainstream school is essential! The school is well staffed, resourced and small bespoke classes according to the needs of their pupils.
Key Responsibilities of SEND Teacher
• Teaching KS1-2 pupils with ASC & Complex Needs
• Teaching a range of subjects across the SEND primary curriculum
• Working with other teachers, support staff as well as outside agencies to ensure the highest level of teaching and learning for hard to reach students
• Planning, teaching and assessing across the curriculum
Personal Specification of SEMH Teacher
• Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have a strong understanding of SEND Needs such as: ASC & Complex Needs
• Have at least a years experience working in SEND (SEND School, Specialist Provision or Mainstream School with SEND)
• Have a strong ability to forge relationships with pupils with a range of needs
• Have a strong understanding of behaviour management – through de-escalation techniques
