Full Time | 8:30am – 3:30pm | Mainstream Primary School in Denton
£475-£500 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)
A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Denton, Tameside, supporting a pupil with significant additional needs. This role would suit someone who has real experience supporting children with severe autism and challenging behaviour and knows how to build trust, consistency and positive relationships.
About the school & role
Based in Denton, the school is a large, welcoming primary setting with around 440 pupils aged 3–11, including nursery provision.
The role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 SEND supportto a pupil in year 4, helping a pupil access learning, manage behaviour and develop their communication, confidence and independence.
Experience is valued far more than qualifications for this position. A SEND/TA qualification would be beneficial, but it isn’t essential – the right practical experience and approach are what really matter.
The ideal candidate
Has hands-on experience supporting children with severe autism, ideally within a primary or specialist setting in the UK.
Confident managing challenging behaviour, remaining calm and consistent while using positive behaviour strategies to help pupils regulate and engage.
Is patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs. A relevant TA/SEND qualification is advantageous but not required.
If you have the experience and personality to make a real difference to a child’s school day, this could be a brilliant opportunity.
