New Directions Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a small, one-form entry primary school in Skelmersdale. This is a full-time, long-term role offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit school community with a high proportion of disadvantaged pupils.
The School:

• Dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported to reach their full potential.
The Role:
• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND, including one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and supporting access to the curriculum.
• Help foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.
• Use transferable skills from care, psychology, nursing, or related backgrounds to build trusting relationships and promote pupil wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Can provide a reference covering relevant experience with children or in a similar support capacity within the last 5 years.
• Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
• Is compassionate, patient, and proactive with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
