New Directions Education are working closely with a Primary School on the Wirral who are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant to start in September 2025. This is an ongoing, full-time role supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within the Early Years setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood development and experienced in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 support to pupils in EYFS with SEN
Supporting emotional, social, and academic development through tailored activities
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual learning plans
Assisting with personal care and promoting independence where necessary
Creating a warm, supportive and inclusive classroom environment
What You’ll Need:
EYFS-specific qualification (Level 2 or 3 minimum)
Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally in an Early Years setting
Patience, empathy and a nurturing attitude
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Full-time availability from September 2025

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
