Are you a Psychology graduate eager to make a real difference in children’s lives? New Directions Education is working with a SEND school in Wirral to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a background in Psychology.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology graduate who is passionate about child development, learning, and wellbeing. You’ll support pupils across the primary age range, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning experiences.
  • Support children with additional needs, including those with social, emotional, or communication challenges.
  • Contribute to observations, progress reports, and learning plans.

About You

  • degree in Psychology or a closely related subject (essential).
  • A genuine interest in supporting children’s education and wellbeing.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
  • Some experience working with children (paid or voluntary) is desirable.
