Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Year 5 Class Teacher to work in a welcoming, well-regarded two-form entry primary school in Huyton. This is a full-time, long-term position, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply and will be fully supported in their professional development.

The Role:

• Full-time teaching position in Year 5, responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across the full primary curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support all learners to make good progress.
• Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 5 teacher to share planning, resources, and ideas.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it (e.g. ECTs in their induction year).
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
• Is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives and committed to inclusive, nurturing practice.
• Be able to provide school-based references within the last 5 years
• Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS background check
