The New Directions group of companies has, for a second consecutive year donated to the South Wales ‘Mr X’ charity drive. The project, which aims to furnish children living in poverty or care with a Christmas present has been running for over half a century.
Mr X, a mystery benefactor drives the annual project to ensure that those children in difficult circumstances in South Wales are not forgotten over the festive period. Businesses, individuals, community groups and friends all come together to arrange a gift for a child in need.
Leah Seltzer, who drives the initiative for the New Directions group of companies says ‘as an organisation, we are very charitable. Our team supports the NSPCC throughout the year with all sorts of wonderful events – from bake offs to bike rides and beyond. The Mr X appeal underpins every one of our company values, and this particular project really brings out the best in our team. Our boardroom in Cardiff (pictured) was absolutely filled to brim with gifts. Packing them all into the cars to deliver to Mr X was quite a challenge’.
The team arranged for over 100 gifts to be delivered to the Mr X HQ. Speaking of plans for 2015, Leah adds – ‘we will be aiming even higher next year. Of course there should be no child in poverty, but whilst it does exist our team will be there to help those who need it most’.
