We are delighted to announce the launch of the 2019 Cardiff City FC Foundation PL Primary Stars Girls Only Tournament in partnership with New Directions Education.
The tournament provides primary school girls between the ages of 9 and 11 with the opportunity to take part in an exciting, competitive and enjoyable cross-borough tournament. The competition will be held in Cardiff, with qualifying rounds taking place on 20th and 21st November 2019, and the final taking place on 28th November 2019.
This annual event is a highlight of the sporting academic year for schools across the region. Kelly Storer, Regional Manager for New Directions Education comments “we are delighted to be able to once more support this competition. I am personally overwhelmed each year with the quality of talent we see on the pitch, and the real sense of sportsmanship between the competing teams. Female football is making major strides in 2019 and we are proud to support the ambitions of Welsh schools in contributing to this.
The tournament is open to teams from years 5 and 6. Each school can enter two teams, each with a maximum of eight players, with the tournament taking a six-a-side structure with two substitutes per team. Due to the limited number of spaces on the Primary Stars Girls Cup U11s tournament, schools can submit up to three teams but only two teams will be guaranteed a space.
If you wish to enter a team, please download the Medical Consent Form to complete and take with you on the match day. Please also read and download the related Photography and Video Policy and Consent Form. The competition rules are also available for your information.
The Tournament will be held at Cardiff International Sports Campus Outdoor 3G Pitch in Cardiff, with qualifying rounds taking place on 20th and 21st November 2019. The final will be held on 28th November 2019.
