New Directions Education are recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist primary SEND school in St Helens. This full-time role involves supporting primary-aged children with a range of complex needs. The school welcomes applications from both experienced teaching assistants and those new to SEND but with a strong passion for supporting children with additional needs.

The Role:
• Supporting pupils across the primary age range with a variety of complex needs.
• Assisting teaching staff in delivering individualised programmes that support learning, communication, and personal development.
• Helping pupils engage with activities, manage routines, and develop social and life skills.
• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, tailored support.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experience working with children with complex needs is desirable but not essential.
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible, with a passion for helping children overcome challenges.
• Willingness to learn new strategies and participate in ongoing training.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to provide employment references from the last 5 years.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
