Job Description

New Directions Education is recruiting on behalf of a friendly and supportive primary school in Birkenhead for an experienced Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Foundation 1 (Nursery) team.
This is a part-time role working three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with extended hours, starting in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of children in F1
  • Assist with daily routines, activities, and creative play
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning experiences
  • Help with personal care and promote independence where needed
  • Maintain a safe, engaging and nurturing environment

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in EYFS settings, ideally within a school nursery
  • Patience, warmth, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work the stated hours (8:00am – 5:50pm)

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant

  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
