New Directions Liverpool is recruiting an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join the reception class at an Outstanding primary school in Kikrby. The school has made significant investments in its EYFS department, including the creation of an inspiring outdoor learning space and a dedicated Forest School.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting children in the EYFS, with a strong focus on delivering phonics interventions and facilitating learning within continuous provision. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking educational environment.

Although the role is based around education support, due to the children’s personal needs and behaviours they require consistent mentoring, motivating and advising, as well as some counselling, so their well-being can remain stable meaning they can achieve much more in their education and work towards an more independent future.
Behaviours displayed by the children can be challenging so applicants must be prepared to practice De-escalation and calming techniques, as well maintaining an empathetic approach and understanding behaviours stems from other problems. candidates from care, sports, psychology, criminology, sociology and youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
