Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a motivated and passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Wavertree, Liverpool, from September. This is a full-time, long-term position within Key Stage 1, with excellent support and the potential to become permanent.

The Role:
• Full-time Key Stage 1 class teacher position, responsible for planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons that support the progress of all learners.
• Support the development of early literacy and language skills, with a particular focus on strategies for EAL pupils.
• Differentiate teaching and resources to ensure children with EAL can access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
• Work closely with the school’s EAL coordinator and support staff to assess language needs, set targets, and monitor progress.

The Ideal Candidate:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be completing or have recently completed an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
• Have recent experience teaching or undertaking placements in a Key Stage 1 setting, ideally within diverse classroom environments.
• Be able to provide a recent reference from a school-based placement or teaching role within the last 5 years.
• Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
