Do you have experience supporting pupils in EYFS or KS1 with additional needs in a Primary school setting?
New Directions are currently working with a number of schools in Cheshire West and Chester who have vacancies for 1:1 LSA’s.
Our client schools require Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants or have worked with pupils in EYFS and or KS1 with a range of needs:
Autism, ADHD, Global Development Delay, Sensory Processing needs, MLD and SEMH.
All pupils should be accessing the curriculum at some level and knowledge of the EYFS framework is advantageous.
You will undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Early Years or Teaching Assistance
Good numeracy and literacy skills, preferably to GCSE Grade C minimum or equivalent
Experience of supporting pupils with SEN/IEPS
Ability to effectively use ICT to support learning

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
