New Directions Education is currently recruiting for a pool of passionate and resilient SEMH Teachers to support learners with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs within specialist provisions across Leeds.
You will be working in a nurturing and inclusive environment designed to support pupils who may have additional diagnoses such as ASD, ADHD and trauma-related needs. Many of the learners require a tailored, therapeutic approach to access the curriculum and develop positive learning behaviours.
We want to hear from:
QTS / QTLS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEN needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A compassionate, patient and flexible approach to teaching
Team Teach or similar behaviour training (desirable but not essential)
You will be working with learners across all phases, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom. The role involves:
Deliver creative, adaptive lessons to engage leaners
Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external agencies
Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Create a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment
