Cover Teacher – KS1–KS4 (Daily & Short-Term Cover)
Location: Primary, Secondary, and Specialist Schools across Cheshire East
Start Date: Ongoing
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £130 – £150 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
New Directions is seeking flexible, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Teachers to support with daily and short-term cover across a range of primary, secondary, and specialist school settings in Cheshire East. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers who thrive on variety and enjoy adapting to new environments, age groups, and subjects.
You will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on track in the absence of their regular class teachers. Whether you’re delivering pre-prepared lessons or leading your own engaging activities, your ability to motivate learners and build positive relationships will be key to success.
We are looking for a qualified teacher who:
• Can confidently deliver lessons across KS1–KS4, adapting quickly to different settings and year groups.
• Has excellent classroom management skills and a calm, professional approach.
• Is enthusiastic about supporting learning in a variety of subjects.
• Is flexible, reliable, and able to respond effectively to last-minute cover requests.
• Has a passion for making learning enjoyable and accessible for all pupils.
• Deliver engaging lessons across multiple subjects and year groups, ensuring a consistent learning experience.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the school or adapt your own as needed.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and assessment.
• Build strong, professional relationships with staff and pupils in each school.
• Represent New Directions with professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to quality education.
• Experience a wide range of primary, secondary, and specialist school environments across Cheshire East.
