New Directions Education is seeking a skilled SEN Teacher to join the Specialist Provision within one of our partner mainstream secondary schools in Stockport. This role involves delivering tailored teaching and support to pupils with additional learning needs, helping them to make meaningful academic and personal progress within a nurturing inclusion setting.
You will work with pupils with a range of needs including ASD, SEMH, MLD, and communication or sensory needs, using a flexible and supportive approach to ensure each learner can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within the SEN provision
• Implement personalised support strategies in line with EHCPs
• Use positive behaviour approaches to support emotional regulation and engagement
• Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support
• Track and assess pupil progress, adjusting teaching and interventions as required
• Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and independence
Essential Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply
• A supportive, resilient, and learner-centred approach
