New Directions Education is currently seeking caring, enthusiastic, and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils within primary schools across Knutsford. This rewarding role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a supportive school environment.
The schools we partner with are inclusive, welcoming, and dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and development of every pupil. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in building pupils’ confidence, encouraging independence, and supporting their educational progress.
Due to the nature of these roles, applicants must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
The Role:
Providing focused 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Supporting children to engage with classroom activities and learning tasks
Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
Following and implementing tailored support strategies and individual learning plans
Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging participation in lessons
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider support staff
Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback when required
Helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND environment
A calm, patient, and flexible approach to supporting learning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
A full UK driving licence and access to transport (desirable)
