New Directions Education are currently recruiting caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Chester and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing tailored support to children with additional learning needs and helping them to thrive in an inclusive school environment.
The schools we work with are welcoming and supportive, with strong SEND provisions and experienced staff teams.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
• Supporting pupils to access learning within the classroom
• Assisting with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
• Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback where required
• Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)
